ABOUT ME:

Hello, my name is Eve and I am the founder of True Therapy and Training. I have been a practicing counsellor since 2016, during that time I have had the privilege of working with a vast range of clients from age 11 to 75.

As we know no two individuals are identical in their thoughts, feelings and experiences, it is important then that as a therapist I honour each individual and accept them exactly as they are, respecting their truth.

Therapy in my view can not be a ‘one size fits all’ approach and whilst I do work from models including talking therapy and CBT, the most important aspect is that the client and I are able to build a trusting relationship whereby the client can learn to feel safe and heard without judgment. Growth can be achieved when we are accepted for who we are, then we can learn to accept ourselves also.

I am neurodivergent affirmed with lived experience with Autism, it is important to again recognise that one model of therapy may not work for all, for neurodivergent people this may mean working together to find what works for you. My room is comfortable with soft furnishings and the option of dim lighting, I also have stimming tools.

I have personal experience of non visible disabilities including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, IBS, epilepsy and autism and again promote the idea that each individual needs to be heard and valued in a way that is tailored to them.

My therapy room also has disability access.

Carl Rogers- quote

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset.
